As a French person who has worked with several cross-cultural evangelistic ministries in France, I’ve realized that those from other cultures have a completely different way of thinking and doing. I have often been frustrated by cultural misunderstandings in the heat of the moment, creating problems while we were trying to do ministry. This was never the time or place to confront these issues, but when is? With ELAN, I see the possibility of anticipating the challenges associated with our cultural differences. Elan will help the French Church to better integrate foreign missionaries while helping foreign missionaries to better integrate into the Christian world in France. We need everyone in this beautiful work that Jesus has given us to do, so that together we can reach France for Jesus Christ.
